Sentimental Lady

Just a stone’s throw away from the hustle of a big city, is a peaceful, serene ranch untouched by the ever-expanding metropolis. With arching oaks trees that line the driveway, grazing horses, a pristine lake and white picket fences, it is picturesque, a reminder of a different time. The land tells a story of five generations.
For groom Taylor Liedtke and his bride, Devon Myers, the family’s T Bar J Ranch in Sunnyvale, Texas was the ideal location for their wedding. Not only are the two great lovers of the outdoors, it was where his parents had their wedding reception.
“With so much history, sentiment and beauty, the ranch was an overwhelmingly obvious location for our story to begin, as well,” Devon said.
That story began just over three years ago when they met while attending the Cox School of Business; Taylor was pursuing his MBA, and Devon was working toward her master’s in accounting.
For Devon, Taylor’s proposal couldn’t have been more romantic or surprising. Clearly, he had given his decision a lot of thought and planning, beginning with a weekend away with both families at another family retreat, Buck Spring Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. The date was Nov. 11, 2011.
